Yan To London Fashion Week

A couple of weeks ago I put a call out to friends and fans of my supremely talented husband, Yan To to help him win an off schedule show at London Fashion Week and with your help he made it.

On Saturday 13th September Yan To will be taking his collection to the catwalk for the first time in the HODC Fashion Show at London Fashion Week.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for him. If you are in London on Saturday 13th September and would like to come to cheer him on, a limited number of tickets are available from HODC.

The show is a live walk off with another designer with the winner making it through to the grande finale later that evening. Let's make sure he goes all the way.

Loving Rick Owens AW13

I'm often asked why I wear baggy shapeless clothes when I have an okay figure underneath. I guess my answer is that I don't see baggy as shapeless. Quite the opposite actually.

Apart from the beautiful dresses that the love of my life, Yan To makes for me, I'm not a huge dress person. My day to day style is usually courtesy of Rick Owens and I'm loving his AW13 collection.

These pieces are my faves.

Rick's Spring/Summer14 catwalk show caused a storm last month. Dancers and beatgirls. Not a single size 6 model in sight. Real fashion for real women.

Dr Martens Factory Shop : LOVE!

Now we might live out in the sticks where the sheep are loud and the internet isn't great, but we do live near the Dr Martens Factory Shop!

We're regular visitors, it's like a traditional family day out for us and whilst I was working away today, Yan & Betty went shopping..... and didn't they do well?!

Love is... A Cambridge Satchel and a Yan To dress

Doesn't a new dress make you feel like a million dollars? Actually this new dress makes me feel like ten  million dollars because I'd watched for days as my husband Yan To made it just for me.

It was supposed to be for Cybher™- but what can I say? It was simply an unrealistic expectation on his part for me to leave it hanging in my wardrobe until June. It was never going to happen and I had a meeting yesterday that needed that dress in it!

A bright, new dress calls for a new satchel so after my meeting I popped into the newly opened Cambridge Satchel Company Store in Covent Garden to buy their beautiful new Emerald Satchel that I've been lusting over.

Dress and satchel in perfect harmony.

New Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens SS13 Collection

I'm loving the new Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens collection. This second collaboration for two of England's brightest fashion icons draws inspiration from the fiercely individual Harajuku Girls of Tokyo with their mash-up style that is, in full circle, heavily influenced by the British of punk and goth. 

Clever, I like it. 

Floaty summer dresses, chunky awesome sandals and a cool eye print bag. I know of one girl who will be over the moon that she didn't blow all her birthday money on rubbish come tomorrow when the collection hits the stores.

Dr Martens Agyness Deyn Heart Bag

Biba made the purchase of her dreams in the Dr Martens sale at the weekend. The Agyness Deyn Heart Bag that she's had her eye on since the collection launched.

It's a two-way bag that can be used as a satchel or as a backpack. It took us ages to work out how to route the straps into back pack mode and respect to the guy in the Dr Martens store Birmingham who totally worked it out under pressure from all the females in the store!

Chanel Lego Clutch : Geek IS Chic

It's been years since I developed an absolute 'must have' fixation with a bag but last week it happened. It hit me like an absolute bolt out of the blue.  I'm besotted, I'm in love and I can't stop thinking about how THAT BAG would honestly and truly make my life complete.

Of course I felt that way last time, the time before that and the time before that. But this really is out of my control.

The Chanel Lego Clutch Bag from the SS13 collection is officially the bag of my dreams.

I know that it's impractical and in no way able to carry even half of what I need in order to leave the house without going into meltdown but I don't care. Emerald Colour of the Year 2013

Expect the high street stores to become a sea of green over the next couple of months as Pantone announce that Emerald Green is the new Tangerine Tango and colour of the year 2013.

I love bold colours, I just rarely feel in the mood for such bright, bold shopping. My wardrobe is testament to this with rails of black, black and more black. Still that at least gives me a good base to accessorise from right?

This is more of a plea than a regular post as I need some help hunting down a pair of Hello Kitty Dr Martens boots in a size 6. These beauties were a 2010 in collaboration with Sanrio in celebration of Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary so they are obviously long gone in store....
