Geek Is New Chic Tech Guide

I missed the boat on my Christmas Gift Guide this year so decided to work it into a must have tech guide instead. Genius.

I already own most of the things I've featured and I have the others set firmly in my sight.

Geek Is New Chic 2013 Tech Guide

ONE : Pebble Watch - Wearable tech is the future and I've been rocking my new Pebble smart watch for the last couple of weeks. Watch out for a review coming soon.

TWO : Moleskin Evernote Smart Notebook - A staple in my geek satchel in the Moleskin Evernote. Write in your usual pen and upload your note pages to your mac using the handy iPhone ap. Genius in a notebook.

THREE : Crosley Spinnerette Turntable - I bought this for my eldest for Christmas. One of those presses that you really want yourself! Alas, I already have a turntable, though not one of this orange, epic proportions.

FOUR : BoomBox iPhone Speaker : I have to say that this boom box is EPIC. I bought it for Biba for Christmas and have been jell ever since. The sound is awesome and boy does it make me want to get out a skipping rope, round up some pals and get double dutching?!

FIVE : Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 Camera - I have a previous version of this camera, well Biba does but I'm the one who buys the film! It's become a must on days and nights out.

SIX : Tape Recorder iPhone Speaker - I'm sure the mono sound from this retro delight isn't really up to much but it's cuteness wins me over.

SEVEN : PocketBand - Who doesn't need a hands free stashing option for those random bag free, pocket free moments? PocketBand is a silicone band with a secret, waterproof pouch for money, keys and stuff. So awesome that you'll wonder how you ever lived without one.

EIGHT : Snack Cap Lens Cover  - I'm always losing my lens cap on my SLR. This is a bit of fun and pretty easy to make yourself if you don't fancy the shipping from America.

NINE : Rainbow Camera Strap - I bought this to use as a carry strap for the awesome boom box that I bought Biba for Christmas. It rocks.

TEN : Stelle Audio Pillar - Sleek and sexy, this speaker pairs wirelessly with any Bluetooth device to provide a beautifully crisp sound. The rechargeable battery gives you around 15 hours of play between charges, which is pretty awesome. I've been long term testing it and it quickly became one of my top tech essentials. Watch out for the review coming soon.

Geek Goes Vintage Angels

I have these awesome Geek Goes Vintage Angels for sale in my store and if I was more organised, I'd have got it together to get them up onto Etsy or something but time doesn't seem to be on my side these days...

I've had lots of people asking about them on Facebook and, yes you can buy them from me and I will ship.

There are three sizes of Angel, small, medium and large and each one is truly individual.

TK Maxx Christmas

My free time is almost non existent at the moment, so when I'm Christmas shopping on the high street I want to get as many gifts as possible in the bag in one shop.

I've been slack (again) this year but being asked to take part in the TK Maxx #TheMoment campaign was the push I needed to get out and get shopping.

My challenge? To purchase awesome Christmas gifts for five members of my family from the extensive range available at my local TK Maxx store.

This was going to be a piece of cake for an experienced TK Maxx shopper (and her assistant) on a mission to complete the festive gift buying in one fair swoop!

Christmas Shopping Challenge On!

What did I buy??

1. Cute bobble hat for Betty (as modelled by Biba!)
2. Cute bobble hat for Biba (as modelled by Biba!)
3. Stackable multitool kit for Ethan, though I really want that for myself!
4. Power Port for Yan, though I really want that for myself, sigh.
5. Hat and scarf set for Kelli, though that grey and orange combo is calling out to me...
6. Socks for Sonny
7. Slinky for the cats, they love a bit of slinky stairs action!
8. Matching Christmas jumpers for Purdy (the Westie) and Cheryl and Aggy (the beautiful Cornish Rex kitties)
9. Headphones for Betty
10. Cocktail shaker for Ethan (in the hope that he visits and makes Gin Fizz for me)

See it really is that easy to shop for your whole family at TK Maxx. My challenge was to buy gifts for five and I came home with bags bursting with the ultimate #TheMoment gifts for my family of nine. Happy days.

*I did come home with 2 additional carrier bags full of goodies BUT I've shipped them off for Santa to wrap.

DISCLOSURE : This is a sponsored post, however all of the items featured were purchased by me in order to write this post.

Geek Goes Vintage Is Open

It's been a haze of a couple weeks spent working full time in my day job and most of the night getting my little Geek Goes Vintage store up and looking at least partially how I envisaged it. Though my house is littered with boxes, half painted bits of furniture and piles of stuff, I feel like I'm getting there.

The downside to selling, I have already realised, is that I'm actually pretty attached to each and every single item I have for sale and I feel a little pang every time I return to the store to see that something else has been sold!

I'm clearly missing the point but then I buy things that I love that have reached out to me in some weird, twisted way!

Things like this Guide Dogs For The Blind Tray, that is, as Biba explained it, 'So wrong, it's right.'
I have to agree with her and after thinking about it all week, I've decided not to sell it. I think I would regret it for ever more!

If you fancy stopping by for a visit, you will find Kibworth Antiques Centre on the A6 between Kibworth and Market Harborough. In addition to my kitschy collection there's currently around 5000 sq ft of eclectic antiques and collectables with a further 2000 sq ft opening in the next couple of weeks as The Den.
We will be organising a little press / blogger launch event, so if you would like an invite, please leave your details in a comment or you can tweet me @Geekisnewchic
