Corners of my home : Bedroom

I'm joining in with Kara's Corners of my home series today with a look at a couple of my favourite spots in my bedroom.

Our bedroom was one of the first rooms that we decorated when we bought this house eleven years ago but I'm still happy with the way it looks.
It's a big room with doors opening onto a balcony and a beautiful deep, Victorian bath at the foot of our bed. Because of the beautiful countryside views (and the tv) it's the most used bath in our house!

The wallpaper is Matthew Williamson for Habitat, the big bunny and Hello Kitty money boxes were bought on holiday in Bangkok and the vintage drawers came with the house.

Vintage mirror

I LOVE this oversized, french style mirror that I found on ebay. It's huge (and a big pull for the teens in the house but my favourite item in this room has to be the pair of vintage French chairs (obscured by baby girl but you get the idea).
The wooden floor was created by +Yan To, made entirely out of pallets and it flows through into our ensuite with this fab storage system that he made.
It's not easy to get a good picture in there because of the compact nature of the space but the storage keeps all our toiletries out of view and the room neat and tidy.

Corners of my home : Kitsch

Inspired by my pal Kara, I bring you, the favourite corners of my home.

We've owned this awesome house for ten years this Easter, I don't know where the time has gone. I LOVE everything (except the crappy countryside internet) about my house. I can see myself growing happily old here. It's simply the home of my dreams.

The downstairs toilet is home to my ever decreasing small figure collection. My bad ass kitties have been intent on distraction of late and the window ledge collection is rapidly dwindling.

Our TV room is the one place that is virtually un-touched by my kitschy vintage eye, but Yan and Betty found this original Tretchikoff print in a high street charity store and it claimed a coveted spot in the the living room.

I adore this corner of my desk. It's packed with the kitschy things that I love. Blythe, Sonny Angel, Clarice Cliff, Woodland Dolls and random school made pottery objects. This corner is a true representation of me.

The opposite corner of my office plays home to a small collection of my Big Eye Prints. Leighton Jones, Gig, Fallarda, Dallas Jones et al. I'm quickly running out of wall space.

The upstairs hallway is also home to a large number of my Big Eye's. At last count I had over 300 and I'm running out of wall space! You can see more of my collection over on my GeekGoesVintage site.

Over the last few weeks, I've spent what little spare time I have painting our en suite. It's not quite finished yet (when it is, I promise a dedicated before and after post), but I am totally and utterly, head over heels in love with its new grey theme.

I'd love to see more people joining in with this theme so I'm tagging @Candy_pop and @Mim_Tweeta to share the corners of their homes but if you fancy getting on board please do so. Don't forget to tweet me @geekisnewchic with the link to your post, so that I can link to it.

Pantone Your Cat

Every now and then, you chance on something so epic that you just have to share. This, I believe, is one of those times.

I've been looking at lots of paint colours over the last couple of weeks as I attempt to choose the right shade of grey for our current decorating project. In the app store, I chanced upon the official Pantone app, paid my money and downloaded to my phone.

Then I discovered that you could create colour palettes from your images. BOOM, Pantone your cat!

Aggy is a perfect palette of subtle greys with a highlight of plum. Decorating problem sorted, courtesy of my kitty muse and the official Pantone app.

Today I'm Loving : Kingdom of Love

I spotted this whilst browsing online today. What can I say except I LOVE it? This would looks so cool in my office and it's Cybher pink too!
Cybher Throne

Inspired by the classic Louis XV armchairs that I so love, the Queen of Love Throne from Kingdom of Love has to be the most beautiful chair around.
It's seamless, durable and made using recyclable linear polyethylene so it's good inside or out in the garden.

Granted, that is a tad pink but it is available in other colours too. Think how amazing your garden would look with a selection of these. Stunning!
You can grab one from Fab UK.
